The Air Tanker Loader positions are Full-time, seasonal positions lasting 4-5 months.

Positions are available in the following areas:      
-Kamloops Relief                                                                        
-Fort Nelson
-Abbotsford
-Smithers
-Cranbrook
-Williams Lake

 Job Summary:
- Load aircraft as required, following SWP’s within contracted time frames - Mixing and loading of fire retardant into air tankers during periods of fire activity
- Mixing concentrate during aircraft loading
- Ensuring mixed product meets quality specifications
- Loading Air Tankers in a safe and efficient manner
- Off-loading tanker trailers of liquid concentrate
- Cleaning up any spills or leakage
- Checks and complete minor equipment service, ensuring a state of readiness always
-Secondary duties including: - Lawn maintenance, Garden/flower bed care, weed removal
- Basic building maintenance- paint, minor repairs, base cleanup, debris removal
- Light janitorial tasks, garbage removal of loading staff workspaces
-  Respond to early or late dispatch callouts within 30 minutes when on call

Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Work in team environment and effectively communicate with other personnel
• Ability to use hand tools, lawn mowers, garden tools
• Mechanical background or aptitude (preferred)
• First aid certificate (preferred)
• Experience in forklift operation (preferred)
• Reliable transportation to work
• Attending Air Tanker Loader Technician certification required each year

Physical Demands
• Work is performed both inside a shop as well as outdoors, and will involve walking, bending, and standing for extended periods of time. Manual handling of sometimes awkward packages weighing roughly 50 lbs. is also part of the job.
