Location: Sauget, IL 

Position Overview:
The position is ideal for a recent graduate in the Engineering Field.  This individual will be responsible for the development and implementation of chemical process improvements for the P2S5 manufacturing operations in St. Louis and will act as a technical resource to the manufacturing team. This position will also work closely with the P2S5 staff to execute day-to-day activities, transportation assistance, laboratory assistance and data collection to make engineering application recommendations and the ability to be self-directed are essential to this position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:   

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: 

• Provide technology for process and cost improvements
• Interface with plant management on operational and process reliability of P2S5 operation
• Support the production and commercial teams with customer issues as they arise
• Investigate plant process issues and recommend solutions
• Identify opportunities for cost and quality improvements and prepare recommendations for management consistent with company objectives
• Lead site projects and coordinate team members
• Analyze customer and competitor process technologies to build competitive advantage
• Provide cross-functional problem identification and resolution
• Assist in development projects with commercial and manufacturing resources
• Responsible for inventory controls and management within NetSuite to ensure adequate surplus inventory
• Serve as a liaison between service contractor for bin maintenance, repairs and inspections of ISO tanks and IBC's (intermediate boat container/tote bins)
• This position will spend 30% of their time outdoors year-round (summer, winter, rain, snow, heat, etc.)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: 

• Recent college graduate with a BS in Chemical Engineering or equivalent technical degree required
• Phosphorus and phosphate chemistry and process experience preferred
• Manufacturing process knowledge and experience
• Ability to concurrently handle multiple tasks with conflicting priorities
• Ability to work effectively as an individual and as a member of a team
• Ability to build strong relationships with all third parties and company functions
• Strong documentation skills coupled with excellent verbal capabilities
• Solid skills with Microsoft Office (strong Excel preferred), Minitab, and DCS control systems
• Committed to strong safety and environmental policies
• Business and related financial knowledge a plus
• Well organized with excellent time management skills
• Travel will be required, including international - 10%
• Netsuite, SAP or other ERP experience preferred
