Job Description

Scope: The desired candidate will be responsible for assisting the EHS Manager in the implementation of the safety, health, and environmental program through proactive actions beyond regulatory compliance.  A thorough understanding of regulatory requirements and the ability to communicate well with personnel at all levels of the organization is required.  The candidate will support Perimeter Solutions personnel and its affiliated businesses at all levels by providing regulatory guidance and training, as well as addressing employee environmental, health and safety concerns.

Major Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Manage selected aspects of environmental, safety, health and training as assigned by EHS Manager.
  • Provide ESHS guidance and oversight for tolling operation facilities and others as applicable.
  • Review, improve and assist in implementing EHS programs for the facility and affiliated businesses.
  • Evaluate environmental, safety, security, and health impacts for Management of Change.
  • Maintain and assure ESHS compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Lead and participate in audits of ESHS programs and processes for the facility and affiliated businesses. 
  • This position will require at least 30% travel to assist with the management of other sites.
  • Coordinate and ensure timely regulatory and internal reporting requirements including site EHS metrics.
  • Work closely with plant personnel in implementation and maintenance of Management Systems programs including ISO 9001:2015.
  • Maintain ESHS documentation to meet Company and regulatory agency requirements.
  • Promote ESHS continual improvement and target issues through annual EHS plan and promote a good EHS culture through contests, bulletins, literature etc.
  • Conduct bilingual English/Spanish training in required EHS topics and HOP philosophy. Facilitate Learning Teams and reporting practices.
  • Coordinate with medical clinic personnel and corporate staff in managing Worker’s Compensation claims.
  • Coordinate with plant personnel to ensure all corporate requirements are being met and best practices are adopted for the facility and its affiliated business.
  • Other EHS related duties as assigned by the EHS Manager or Director of Operations/Plant Manager

Required Skills

  • BS degree in Safety/Environmental Engineering or related field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to organize, plan and coordinate integrated ESHS programs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • In-depth knowledge of all applicable safety, health and environmental regulations required.
  • Ability to lead others and work in a team environment.
  • Excellent people skills and ability to work well with others.

 Required Experience

  • At least 5 years of EHS experience applied in an industrial setting.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Regulatory compliance experience with federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Management Systems maintenance experience.
  • Bilingual Preferred (Spanish)

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to non-toxic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.  The employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to airborne particles and heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.  The employee is occasionally required to climb ladders and stairs.
